A year ago, PSCars.com served only as a research site for consumers who were interested in buying their vehicles online but from other websites. Now consumers can buy new and used vehicles directly from PSCars.com.

Dan Kodsi, who is CEO of PSCars.com, says his website works with more than 200 dealerships and manufacturers to find vehicles for consumers who want to avoid the face-to-face process of buying a new or used set of wheels.

But that avoidance comes with its own set of challenges. Although PSCars.com can get new vehicles that include all of your option preferences, he says, working with dealerships to find used vehicles can be trickier, because, of course, the vehicle comes as is, which might require a hands-on evaluation before the purchase. PSCars.com works only with dealerships and not with individual sellers to acquire used vehicles.

No fee is charged to use the service, although Kodsi says his website might apply a $299 surcharge to vehicles that are purchased through the website this year. Shipping can add $100–$1,200 to the cost.

Kodsi concedes that you aren’t guaranteed a better price than you would get from a local dealership. At best, Kodsi says, his website can get you a vehicle at a price that’s comparable with the “most competitive price you can get at a dealership.”
