The Lexus HS 250h soon might be sent into retirement.
Between January and October 2011, Lexus sold fewer than 2,400 units of the hybrid, which represents a 73 percent drop from the 2010 tally. Ward’s Auto last November reported that Toyota’s Lexus division will kill the hybrid, although no timeline exists for its withdrawal. The HS 250h was launched in 2009 and is one of five hybrid models that carries the Lexus nameplate.
Toyota spokesperson Curt McAllister tells Consumers Digest that no decision has been made about the HS 250h, and he says a 2012 model will be released. He also says the HS 250h, like all models, remains under review by Toyota.
