Investing in the same publicly traded companies in which Forbes billionaires invest might be a good thing, a new study shows. Research by Joel Shulman, who is an associate professor at Babson College, shows that following billionaires’ investments over the past 10 years would have yielded annualized returns of between 13 percent and 14 percent. Shulman looked at the holdings of 1,125 people who were on the magazine’s list of billionaires at any point from 1996 to 2009, and he found data on 200 of the 495 publicly traded companies.
