| This midsize sedan is the more finely finished sister
vehicle to the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan. Good performance,
comfort and utility puts it in the same realm as the
Asian imports with which it competes in the market.
The MKZ is the handsomest choice among the three vehicles.
Its 263-hp 3.5-liter V6 and six-speed gearbox outperforms
the Ford and Mercury powertrains. The MKZ delivered
a slightly plusher, but acceptable, ride. Standard equipment
includes anti-lock brakes. All-wheel drive, purchased
optionally, increase’s the vehicle’s responsiveness
and wet-road traction. The sedan seats five with sufficient
room. The materials incorporated in the seats, dash
and elsewhere are excellent. Six airbags are standard.
For those interested in integrating their portable media
player, a new communications/entertainment system is
offered.
