| Our review of this midsize four-door leads us to believe
that it matches up well with similar sedans from Honda,
Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota. It offers a wonderful combination
of agreeable performance, comfort and utility. Like
the Ford Fusion, the Milan comes standard with an adequate
160-hp 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a choice of
a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission;
an upgraded 221-hp 3.0-liter V6 engine and a six-speed
automatic are optional. We found the ride and handling
of the Milan nicely coordinated. Anti-lock brakes come
standard, and all-wheel drive can be added for increased
responsiveness and wet-road traction. On the inside,
capacity of the five-passenger sedan is acceptable,
and the seats, dash and other elements are trimmed in
first-class materials. Six airbags are standard. A new
communications/entertainment system that integrates portable media
players is now available.
