Amtrak adds e-ticket option for all routes
Amtrak riders can bypass ticket lines and have electronic tickets emailed to their mobile devices.
Riders can go directly to their train’s gate and show the conductor the e-ticket on their mobile device. Riders also can print out a PDF of their e-ticket from a computer or at an Amtrak Quik-Trak kiosk.
Amtrak’s e-ticket option is available on all of its national train routes, Amtrak spokesperson Christina Leeds says.
Amtrak introduced e-tickets in November 2011 as a pilot program on its Downeaster route from Boston to Portland, Maine.
