AT&T will introduce a data-sharing plan in August
AT&T today became the second wireless telecommunications company to introduce a data-sharing plan that allows customers to connect up to 10 devices on one plan.
The company says its Mobile Share plan will be available in August 2012.
Current and new AT&T customers can select a Mobile Share plan that ranges from 1GB of data for $85 per month to 20GB of data for $200 per month for one smartphone.
You will pay more to add additional devices: $30 per month for each basic cellphone, $35–$45 per month for each smartphone, $10 per month for each tablet computer and $20 per month for each notebook computer.
Additional data costs for the plan will be $15 per gigabyte.
AT&T says it will keep its current individual and family plans when the data-sharing plan is introduced.
Verizon Wireless announced a data-sharing plan in June 2012. But new Verizon customers must select a data-sharing plan. Only current Verizon customers qualify for individual or family plans.
Consumers Digest will scrutinize the latest cellphone-service plans in the September/October 2012 issue.
