It appears that no limit exists for the types of products that can become “smart.” Now, you can buy a smart water filter.

Brita’s Infinity filter pitcher is available at for $45.

The filter pitcher has Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in counter that tracks the amount of water that passes through its filter. When it nears its 40-gallon capacity, the filter pitcher automatically can order a new filter through Amazon’s Dash Replenishment program. Replacement filters cost $5.99 and typically last about 2 months, Amazon says.

The filter pitcher holds 8 cups of filtered water and is free of bisphenol A, which is a chemical that has been linked with health problems.
