CFPB database provides answers to consumers’ financial inquiries
Consumers who have questions about credit cards and mortgages can find answers at an online database that Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) established March 22, 2012.
The database provides detailed explanations of services and terminology that are related to the credit-card and mortgage industries.
Consumers also can find answers to situation-specific questions that they might face when they purchase a home or apply for a credit card.
CFPB’s database has answers to more than 350 questions. The agency said it plans to provide information about additional topics, such as bank accounts, other loans and prepaid cards, in a few months. Consumers can check out the database at consumerfinance.gov/askcfpb/.
