Continental Airlines introduces Economy Plus option

Continental Airlines introduced its first airplane that includes an Economy Plus section Nov. 19.

Economy Plus is an option that provides 4 inches of additional legroom in the first nine rows of the airplane’s economy section.

All passengers in the economy section also can use back-seat touchscreen monitors to view movies and have access to on-demand video entertainment.

Continental passengers who have booked an economy-section seat can purchase an upgrade to Economy Plus on specific flights.

The airline plans to expand the Economy Plus option to more of its airplanes, and passengers will be able to purchase Economy Plus tickets online.
