Deadline approaches for independent foreclosure review
Federal Reserve reminds individuals who believe they were the victims of an unfair foreclosure that they have until July 31, 2012, to request that an independent panel review their case.
Independent Foreclosure Review was created by Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and Federal Reserve Board to provide homeowners with answers regarding foreclosure errors and possible compensation if discrepancies are found.
Former homeowners whose primary residence was involved in a foreclosure between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2010, are eligible for the review if their mortgage was serviced by one of the following companies: America’s Servicing, Aurora Loan Services, BAC Home Loans Servicing, Bank of America, Beneficial, Chase, Citibank, CitiFinancial, CitiMortgage, Countrywide, EMC, Everbank/Everhome Mortgage, Financial Freedom, GMAC Mortgage, HFC, HSBC, IndyMac Mortgage Services, MetLife Bank, National City Mortgage, PNC Mortgage, Sovereign Bank, SunTrust Mortgage, U.S. Bank, Wachovia, Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo or Wilshire Credit.
