Ford Sync users can get real-time allergy reports
Ford Motor
The latest mobile application that’s available for Ford Motor’s Sync AppLink is nothing to sneeze at.
The Allergy Alert app that’s by Pollen.com provides local allergen reports to drivers. If a driver has downloaded the app, Ford’s Sync AppLink feature can connect wirelessly to a driver’s smartphone or tablet computer to access the app. Through voice command, a driver can receive current, location-specific reports for pollen levels and asthma and ultraviolet-ray risks. IMS Health is a privately owned company that supplies the allergen data to Pollen.com
However, Ford’s Sync AppLink can access only the Allergy Alert app that’s compatible with Apple’s iOS mobile devices for now, Ford spokesperson Alan Hall says. Android-powered devices that have the Allergy Alert app will be able to work with Ford Sync in the next few months.
