Hyatt Hotels to provide healthier children’s menu options
Hyatt Hotels
Nov. 30, 2011—Hyatt Hotels will give its children’s menus a healthy overhaul.
By November 2012, its children’s menus at all of its U.S. hotels will include fruits and vegetables as a default side dish for all meals and allow free refills of nonfat or low-fat milk.
The hotel chain also will incorporate at least one meal option that meets Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate nutrition guidelines, which call for 600-calorie meals that have one to two servings of fruits and vegetables, a whole-grain serving, a lean protein serving and a low-fat dairy serving.
Hyatt says that by 2016, it plans to reduce the sugar and sodium content on all of its menus by 10 percent.
