LG introduces robotic sweeper that gets in corners

LG Electronics today introduced a robotic floor sweeper that’s designed to corner the market on cleaning hard-to-reach spaces.

LG’s Hom-Bot Square is a square sweeper that has corner-detecting sensors and a camera sensor that can capture images to map out a floor’s layout, LG says.

The Hom-Bot Square’s shape and sensors allow the model to detect and clean corners more effectively than do circular robotic sweepers, LG says.

Hom-Bot Square will be available in the United States in 2013, but LG hasn’t revealed prices.
