Rand McNally, in cooperation with Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA), introduced new tools for RV owners who need repair or maintenance service when they’re on the road.

Rand McNally created the TripMaker RVND GPS receiver and mobile applications that will help RV owners to locate the nearest RV dealerships and service providers while they travel. Rand McNally also will update its online map service to include such information.

The TripMaker RVND GPS receiver is available as an aftermarket device that can be installed in a motor home. The GPS receiver comes in a model that has a 5-inch screen ($300) or a 7-inch screen ($350). Rand McNally spokesperson Amy Krouse says it’s unclear whether such a GPS receiver will be made for travel trailers and fifth-wheel trailers.

The mobile app is expected to be available in late summer 2012, but Krouse wouldn’t provide pricing for the app.
