The first single-serve coffee machine from Starbucks has arrived.
The Starbucks Verismo system uses single-serve coffee and milk packets to make coffee, espresso, and latte.
Two Verismo models exist. The basic model costs $199; another model that has temperature controls and an LED display screen costs $399.
As of press time, the base Verismo model can be purchased at starbucks.com, and both models are expected to be available starting October 2012 at certain Starbucks retail stores and at specialty retail stores such as Williams-Sonoma and Bloomingdale’s department stores. The premium model will be available for purchase at Starbucks’ website starting Nov. 23, 2012.
Consumers Digest first reported on Starbucks’ plans to create such a single-serve coffee machine in “The Personal Touch: The Ultimate Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines” in the July/August 2011 issue.
