Toyota revealed four robotic-equipment models that it plans to introduce in health-care facilities in 2013.

The robotic equipment will assist individuals who are injured or who are incapacitated physically.

Four models are expected to be introduced: Independent Walk Assist, which is mounted to an individual’s leg for support in walking; Walk Training Assist, which helps an individual to learn how to walk; Balance Training Assist, which helps to maintain an individual’s sense of balance; and Patient Transfer Assist, which helps caregivers to transport an individual.

The robotic equipment is part of Toyota’s Partner Robot series, which was developed in 2007.
