March 3, 2017—One World Technologies recalled 8-amp Ryobi Electric Jet Fan leafblowers, because the plastic fan that’s inside of the leafblower might break, and the fan blades might be discharged from either end of the blower tube, which poses a laceration hazard.

The recalled leafblowers have the model number RY42102 and serial numbers from EU15401D170001 through EU16239N999999. The model and serial numbers are printed on the data label that’s on the bottom of the leafblower. “Ryobi” and “8amp Jet Fan” are printed on the side of the leafblower.

The recalled leafblowers were sold from December 2015 through December 2016 at Home Depot stores nationwide and online at homedepot.com.

One World Technologies received 10,681 reports of incidents that included 25 reports of minor injuries, such as lacerations to hands, faces and legs, that resulted from fan blade pieces that were discharged from the blower.

Consumers immediately should stop using the recalled leafblowers and may call One World Technologies for a free replacement.

For more information, consumers may call One World Technologies at 800/860-4050 Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET, or Saturday–Sunday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. ET, or go to ryobitools.com.
