BT McElrath Chocolatier cites salmonella risk in recall of peanut butter chocolates
Oct. 30, 2012—BT McElrath Chocolatier recalled its seasonal Peanut Butter Pavé chocolates, because the peanut butter that’s used as an ingredient might be contaminated with salmonella.
The recalled product was sold in two- and five-count packages that have lot number 12031, 12046, 12159 or 12201, and a “best by” date of April 30, 2012; June 15, 2012; Oct. 7, 2012; or Nov. 26, 2012.
The recalled product was sold nationwide through retail stores, mail order and direct sales. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
