Cass-Clay Creamery recalls ice cream because of unlisted allergens
July 25, 2012—Cass-Clay Creamery recalled certain ice-cream products, because they might contain unlisted Brazil nuts, or peanut oil and soy lecithin. People who have an allergy or a severe sensitivity to these products risk having a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The following products are being recalled because they might contain unlisted Brazil nuts: Cass-Clay Maple Nut ice cream (1 gallon) that has UPC 7042203404; Cass-Clay Premium Light Maple Nut ice cream (1 gallon) that has UPC 7042223404 and Hornbacher’s Maple Nut ice cream (half-gallon) that has UPC 4113021666. The product that’s being recalled because it might contain undeclared peanut oil and soy lecithin is Cass-Clay Premium Light Double Chocolate Fudge ice cream (half-gallon) that has UPC 7042224061.
The recalled products were distributed to Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the recalled products to the store of purchase for a full refund.
