Aug. 1, 2017—MixBin Electronics recalled certain liquid-glitter iPhone cases, because liquid and glitter might leak out of the cases, which poses burn and skin irritation hazards.
The recall involves all liquid-glitter cellphone cases for iPhone 6, 6s and 7. The cases, which are about 5-1/2 inches by 2-3/4 inches, contain liquid and glitter that float in the plastic case. They were sold in various colors and styles. The model number can be found on the product’s package. The recalled phone cases were sold from October 2015 through June 2017 at Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and other sites.
The company received 19 reports of skin irritation or chemical burns. One consumer reported receiving permanent scars from a chemical burn, and another consumer reported chemical burns and swelling to her chest, face, hands, leg, neck and upper body.
Consumers immediately should stop using the recalled phone cases and may contact MixBin Electronics for a full refund.
