June 19, 2017—United Pet Group recalled private-label brands of dog rawhide chew products that were distributed nationwide, because they were processed with a quaternary-ammonium compound mixture that might cause reduced appetite and gastric irritation, such as diarrhea and vomiting.

The company previously conducted a limited recall of its own brands of rawhide products that were distributed separately from the private-label brands. For a complete list of the affected private-label brands and product names, click on United Pet Group rawhide recall.

United Pet Group received reports of pet illnesses, which included complaints of diarrhea and vomiting. Consumers also reported that the products had an unpleasant odor.

Consumers are urged to throw away the recalled product, or they may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
