Oct. 11, 2012—Dean Foods recalled two ice cream varieties that were manufactured for Albertsons supermarkets. The affected products contain peanut butter that was supplied by Sunland and that might be contaminated with salmonella.

Dean Foods hasn’t received any complaints or reactions that are related to these products, and only two flavors of Albertsons ice cream are part of the recall.

The recall includes Albertsons Peanut Butter Cup flavor that has UPC 4116345891 and a “best by” date range of 4/6/2011 to 9/25/2013, and Albertsons Peanut Butter Chocolate that has UPC 4116345903 and a best-by date range of 3/26/2011 to 8/3/2013. The container has one of two plant codes: 49-11 or 06-20. Both flavors were sold in 1.5-quart cardboard cartons in Albertsons stores between March 26, 2012, and Sept. 25, 2012, in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Consumers who have these products should discard them or return the product package to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange. Consumers who have questions may call Dean Foods at 800/587-2259 Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CT.
