Feb. 16, 2012—Ducati is recalling certain 2011–2012 Hypermotard and Monster motorcycles that were manufactured from June 25, 2011, through Nov. 30, 2011 (recall number RCL12001).

The recalled models include 2011 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP, 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 796, 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo, 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP C, 2012 Ducati Monster 696, 2012 Ducati Monster 796 and 2012 Ducati Monster 1100 Evo.

The fuel lines contain microcracks because of insufficient drying of raw material prior to extrusion. This could result in a fuel leak that, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire, personal injury or property damage.

Ducati will notify owners and dealers will replace the fuel lines free.
