Energizer recalls night lights because they might overheat
Aug. 23, 2012—Energizer recalled its Rotating LED night lights, because they can overheat and smoke, which poses a burn hazard to consumers.
The recalled night lights are white, have an LED bulb inside of an adjustable dome and were sold in packages of two. Model “NLPLROT” and date codes that range from 0110 (January 2010) to 0111 (January 2011) are included in this recall. The model number is stamped onto the side of the night light. The date code is stamped in a circle that’s on the back of the night light.
The recalled product was sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from February 2012 through July 2012. Energizer received nine reports of the night lights overheating, including three reports of minor property damage. No injuries were reported. Consumers should stop using and unplug the recalled night lights. Consumers also should contact Energizer for instructions to return the night lights for a $7 coupon toward the purchase of an Energizer product.
