Oct. 9, 2012—Graco Children’s Products recalled the company’s Classic Wood Highchairs because of a fall hazard. The high chair’s seat can loosen or detach from the base, posing a hazard to the child.

Graco received 58 reports of seats loosening or detaching from the base and nine reports of children falling and suffering bumps, bruises and scratches as the seat detached from the base.

The recall involves all Graco Classic Wood Highchairs that were sold in three wood finishes and that have model number 3C00BPN, 3C00BPN TC, 3C00CHY, 3C00CHY TC, 3C00CPO or 3C00CPO TC. The model number is printed on a label that’s underneath the seat assembly.

The high chair has a top seat, bottom leg assembly and a removable tray. The high chair is sold with a beige fabric seat cover.

Graco’s Classic Wood Highchairs were sold for about $130 at Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory and other retail stores nationwide and at target.com and walmart.com and other online retailers between September 2007 and December 2010.

Consumers should stop using the recalled high chair immediately and contact Graco for a free repair kit. To obtain more information, consumers may call Graco at 800/345-4109 Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET or go to gracobaby.com.
