Fisker recalls Karma due to risk of electrical short
Aug. 27, 2012—Fisker Automotive recalled 2012 Karma vehicles that were manufactured from June 15, 2011, through July 9, 2012. A manufacturing defect in the low-temperature cooling fan might result in a direct short. A direct short might ignite the fan housing, the shroud and the surrounding components, which would cause a vehicle fire.
Fisker will notify owners, and dealers will repair the parts free. The safety recall is expected to begin Aug. 27, 2012.
Owners may call Fisker at 855/575-7577. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
