Five brands of office chairs with Leggett & Platt components pose a fall hazard

Email to a Friend

May 25, 2017—Leggett & Platt Office Components recalled five brands of office chairs, because the seat slider bolts and push nuts might disconnect and fall off the chair and allow the seat to detach, which poses a fall hazard.

The recall involves office chairs that have a Leggett & Platt Office Components LP01 synchro-slider mechanism, which allows the user to adjust the seat depth. The recalled chairs were sold under the brands Hon, Hugg, JSI/Jasper Seating, Sitmatic and Via Seating. For a complete list of the affected models, click on Leggett & Platt office chair recall.

The chairs were sold from July 2015 through February 2017 at Costco, OfficeMax, Office Depot, Staples and other furniture stores nationwide and at amazon.com, costco.com, officedepot.com, staples.com, walmart.com and other online stores.

No incidents were reported as of press time.

Consumers immediately should stop using the recalled chairs and should inspect the seat for looseness or a wobble, and they may call Leggett & Platt Office Components for a free repair.
