Fleetwood RV recalls Excursion motor homes because of possible fuel leak

Aug. 31, 2012—Fleetwood RV recalled 2013 Excursion motor homes that were manufactured from March 27, 2012, through July 24, 2012. A threaded fastener that’s installed on the turn shaft might come into contact with a portion of the diesel-fuel fill hose. If the fastener makes contact with the hose, it might scrape the hose and cause a leak. In the presence of an ignition source, a fuel leak would increase the risk of a fire.

Fleetwood RV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, repair the thread fastener free. The safety recall is expected to begin August 2012.

Owners may call Fleetwood RV at 800/509-3418. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
