Sept. 17, 2012—Ford Motor recalled Edge vehicles that were manufactured from Sept. 2, 2010, through Oct. 31, 2011, and are equipped with 2.0-liter engines. The metal housing of the fuel-line pulse damper might crack and result in a fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source might result in a fire.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will repair the parts free. The safety recall is expected to start Sept. 24, 2012.

Owners may call Ford at 866/436-7332. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
