GM recalls certain models because of possible fuel leak

Oct. 1, 2012—General Motors recalled Chevrolet Cobalt (2007–2009) and Equinox vehicles (2007), Pontiac G5 (2007–2009) and Torrent (2007) vehicles, and Saturn Ion (2007) vehicles. These vehicles might have a condition in which the plastic supply or return port on the fuel-pump module might crack, which could cause a fuel leak. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel-pump module free.

Owners may call GM at 800/521-7300. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
