Harris Teeter recalls seafood products due to Listeria risk
Sept. 12, 2012—Harris Teeter recalled certain seafood products, because they might contain onions that are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in individuals who have weakened immune systems.
The products that are involved in this recall are the following: Charleston Crab Cake, 4-ounce (UPC 0020966900000); Crab Stuffed Flounder (UPC 0020822400000); Crab Stuffed Salmon (UPC 0020822500000); Crab Stuffed Tilapia (UPC 0020822600000); Deviled Stuffed Crab (UPC 0020966700000); Maryland Style Crab Cakes, 4-ounce (UPC 0020967400000); Signature Lobster Cake, 3-ounce (UPC 0020967100000); and Signature Lump Crab Cake, 4-ounce (UPC 0020967000000).
The recalled products were sold at Harris Teeter stores in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Consumers should return the recalled products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
