HeathCo recalls motion-sensing lights, because wires can be damaged
July 27, 2012—HeathCo recalled the Heath/Zenith 270-degree Motion Security Light, because the internal wiring can be damaged during installation, bulb replacement or adjustment, which would pose an electric shock hazard.
The recalled motion-sensing lights are made out of aluminum and plastic, and have model number SL-5414-WH. The brand name and model number are printed on a label that’s on the back of the motion sensor.
The recalled product was sold at Home Depot stores nationwide from September 2011 through April 2012. No injuries were reported. Consumers should stop using the light, turn off power to the unit at the circuit breaker or fuse panel and contact HeathCo for a free replacement light fixture.
For more information, call HeathCo at 855/833-8657 Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CT, email hzproductnotice@heathcollc.com or go to heath-zenith.com/hzproductnotice.
