July 31, 2017—Jayco recalled 2017 Jay Flight SLX travel trailers that have the Rocky Mountain Package option.
The affected travel trailers have a cargo-carrying-capacity label that doesn’t include the weight of the water tank and the water inside of it when calculating the capacity. As a result, the capacity is overstated beyond the 1 percent variation that’s allowed. As a result, the travel trailer might become overloaded, which would affect the handling and increases the risk of a crash.
Jayco has notified owners and will provide corrected labels for free. The recall began July 20, 2017.
For more information, owners may call Jayco at 800/283-8267. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
