Kasel Associated Industries recalls dog treats due to salmonella risk
Oct. 4, 2012—Kasel Associated Industries recalled its Nature’s Deli chicken jerky dog treats, because the product might be contaminated with salmonella.
The recalled product was packaged in a 2.5-pound plastic bag that has UPC 647263800208 and a “best by” date of Sept. 19, 2013.
The recalled product was sold at Sam’s Club stores in Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the recalled product to the store of purchase for a full refund. Consumers who handle pet treats can become infected with salmonella, especially if they don’t wash their hands thoroughly after they touch surfaces that are exposed to this product. Pets that have salmonella infections might develop a fever or abdominal pain or lose their appetite
