Kays Classic vanilla bean ice cream recalled due to unlisted pecans

Oct. 30, 2012—Schoep’s Ice Cream recalled Kays Classic vanilla bean ice cream, because the product might contain pecans, which aren’t listed on the ingredient label. Consumers who are allergic to pecans might have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recalled product was sold in a 48-ounce package that has UPC 08784813021 and a “best if used by” date of Feb. 28, 2014.

The recalled ice cream was distributed to Food City and Super Dollar stores in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the product to the store of purchase for a full refund.
