Sept. 13, 2012—Lamborghini recalled 2004–2006 Gallardo Coupe and Spyder verhicles, because the high-pressure steering pipes that are near the steering-assistance hydraulic-pump system might leak. A fluid leaks in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Lamborghini will notify owners, and dealers will update the power-steering system free. The safety recall is expected to begin Sept. 10, 2012.
Owners may call Lamborghini at 703/364-7042. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
