Oct. 3, 2012—Haier America recalled its 42-inch LED TV, because the TV stand’s neck support can break and cause the TV to fall, which would pose an injury risk to consumers.

This recall involves Haier’s 42-inch LED TV that has the model number LE42B1380 printed on a label on the back of the unit.

The recalled product was sold at Fry’s Electronics and other retail stores, and online at amazon.com and by other online retailers from September 2011 through March 2012. Haier received 184 reports of the TV stand’s neck breaking. No injuries were reported. Consumers should stop using and detach the TV from the stand and keep the TV and the base in a safe location. Consumers should contact Haier to request a free replacement neck for the stand that can be used with the original base.
