June 20, 2017—Staples recalled its Staples and Quill Hazen Mesh Task chairs, because the legs on the base might break, which poses a fall hazard.

The recalled chairs have a five-wheel base, a black-fabric seat cushion and a black-mesh seatback. The item number 26680 and SKU number 1058246 are on a white label that’s on the underside of the seat cushion.

Staples received 20 reports of chair legs breaking, which included three reports of injuries that involved bruises and minor cuts.

The recalled chairs were sold from October 2014 through April 2017 at Staples stores nationwide and at staples.com, staplesadvantage.com and quill.com.

Consumers immediately should stop using the recalled chairs and may call Staples for a free replacement base and instructions on how to replace the original base.

For more information, consumers may call Staples at 866/755-1321 Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. ET, register at seatingrecall123.com or go to staples.com.
