Navistar recalls one Safari Simba RV because of problems with the brakes

July 13, 2012—Navistar recalled one Safari Simba RV that was manufactured on June 29, 2007, and is equipped with Bosch hydraulic disc brakes. Motor homes that have hydraulic disc brakes and that aren’t driven for long periods of time might show reduced brake performance because of brake drag and overheating. Reduced brake performance would increase the risk of a crash.

Navistar will notify the owner, and an authorized Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) dealer will inspect and, if necessary, repair free. The safety recall is expected to begin on or before July 20, 2012.

Owners may contact DTNA at 800/547-0712. Owners also may contact National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
