July 6, 2017—Clif Bar & Company recalled Clif Builder’s Bar Chocolate Mint, Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Chip and Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Mint products, because they might contain almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, coconuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, peanuts, pecans or walnuts that aren’t listed on the label. People who have an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts or tree nuts might have a serious or life-threatening reaction when they eat the product.

The affected products were sold in retail stores nationwide and online, and all pack sizes and individual bars are included in the recall. The affected “best by” dates are on the back of the individual packages or caddies. For a full list of the affected dates and lot codes, click on Clif bar recall.

The company said it received consumer complaints about allergic reactions but that no illnesses were confirmed to be associated with the affected products.

Consumers who have peanut or tree-nut allergies should not eat the affected products and may return them to the place of purchase for an exchange or a full refund.
