Power-window switch might melt in 2002–2006 Honda CR-V models

Oct. 8, 2012—Honda Motor recalled certain CR-V SUVs from model years 2002–2006. The driver-side power-window switch might fail or melt. Honda’s campaign recall number is S61.

If the switch fails, it could overheat and cause a fire. A switch failure, and a fire, could occur even if the vehicle isn’t in use. Honda advises owners to park outside until the recall repair is performed.A total of 268,655 vehicles might be affected by this recall.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the switches for free. The safety recall is expected to begin Nov. 2, 2012.
