Publix recalls bagged-salad due to Listeria risk

Sept. 28, 2012—Publix Supermarkets recalled its Hearts of Romaine bagged salad, because the product might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in individuals who have weakened immune systems.

The recalled product was packaged in a 10-ounce bag that has UPC 4141503886.

The recalled product was sold at Publix stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the recalled product to the store of purchase for a full refund.
