Risk of fire ignites Banana Boat sunscreen recall
Oct. 22, 2012—Energizer Holdings recalled certain continuous-spray Banana Boat sunscreen products. Consumers face a risk of the product catching fire on the skin if contact is made with a source of ignition before the product is completely dry.
For a list of affected product names and UPCs, go to Food and Drug Administration’s website.
The recalled products were distributed to retail stores nationwide from January 2010 through September 2012. Energizer received four reports of incidents that involved burns. Consumers shouldn’t use the recalled products and should contact Energizer.
For more information, call Energizer at 800/723-3786 Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. ET or email suncare@customerfollowup.info.
