San Miguel Produce recalls cooking greens due to Listeria risk
Aug. 2, 2012—San Miguel Produce recalled its Cut ’N Clean Cooking Greens kit, because the product might contain onions that were part of a Gills Onions recall that cited a Listeria monocytogenes risk. Listeria is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in individuals who have weakened immune systems.
The recalled product was packaged in a 24-ounce plastic clamshell container. The following are involved in this recall: run number 20260 that has a “best used by” date of July 25, 2012, or July 26, 2012; run number 20340 that has a best-used-by date of July 27, 2012; run number 20437 that has a best-used-by date of July 30, 2012; run number 20546 that has a best-used-by date of Aug. 2, 2012; run number 20651 that has a best-used-by date of Aug. 3, 2012; and run number 20756 that has a best-used-by date of Aug. 6, 2012, or Aug. 7, 2012. All recalled run numbers have UPC 028764000616.
The recalled product was distributed in Arizona, California, Iowa and Nevada. No illnesses were reported. Consumers should return the recalled product to the store of purchase for a full refund.
