Sharper Image recalls USB wall charger on fire, burn hazards
Oct. 10, 2012—Sharper Image recalled its USB wall chargers because of a fire hazard. The chargers can overheat and smoke, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
The recall involves Sharper Image USB wall chargers that have model numbers TSI202 and TSI260. The wall chargers are used to recharge electronic devices such as MP3 players through a USB connection. The chargers are made of black plastic and are about 2 inches high by 1 inch wide. “The Sharper Image” is printed on the top of the charger, and the model number is printed on bottom.
Sharper Image received 13 reports of the chargers overheating, smoking and producing an acrid smell. No injuries were reported.
The wall charger was sold at Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning retail stores and on various websites from October 2011 through September 2012.
