Specialized Bicycle Components
Sept. 25, 2012—Specialized Bicycle Components recalled certain 2008 and 2009 model bicycles, because the front fork can break, posing fall and injury hazards.

The bicycles were sold in various colors, including black, blue, burgundy, gold, khaki, and silver. The brand name “Specialized” is on the lower tube of the frame, and the model name is on various parts of the bicycle frame. The bicycles were sold at Specialized retailers from July 2007 to July 2012.
Specialized received four reports of front forks breaking that resulted in cuts, facial fractures, and head and shoulder injuries.
Consumers should stop riding these bicycles immediately and return them to an authorized Specialized retailer to have a free replacement fork installed.
