Strangulation hazard cited in recall of high chairs
Dream on Me
Oct. 19, 2012—Dream on Me recalled its Bistro high chair. The front openings between the product’s tray and seat bottom and on the side openings of the high chair between the armrest and seat bottom can allow a child’s body to pass through and become trapped at the neck. This would pose a strangulation hazard to young children if the belt isn’t used.
This recall involves all Bistro high chairs that have model/style number 255 printed on a tag that’s attached to the back of the seat. “Dream on Me” is printed on a label that’s attached to the front of the chair’s white tray. The product is blue or pink and the seat fabric has a polka-dot pattern.
The recalled product was sold at Americas Kids, Kid Pro USA and independent juvenile specialty stores and at toyrus.com from November 2011 through September 2012. No injuries were reported. Consumers should stop using the recalled high chair and contact Dream on Me for instructions about how to receive a free replacement high chair.
