Aug. 14, 2012—Toysmith recalled its animal snap bracelets, because the metal snap band can wear through the fabric covering which would result in exposing sharp edges and pose a laceration hazard to consumers.

This recall involves animal snap bracelets that were sold in assorted metallic fabrics and animal figures, including: crab, dolphin, fish, frog, lizard, seahorse and starfish. The recalled bracelets have manufacturing date codes from July 2011, through January 2012 that are printed on a sewn-in label that’s located on the inside of the bracelet. A round, paper tag is attached to the product that has the bar code, SKU number and the words "Item # 2360 Animal Snap Bracelet," printed on it.

The recalled bracelets were sold at Cost Plus World Market, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and other retailers from September 2011 to February 2012. Toysmith received eight reports of injuries, including lacerations. Consumers should return the product to the store where purchased for a full refund.
