Transmission issues in certain 2017 Dodge Challenger vehicles

July 24, 2017—FCA U.S. recalled 2017 Dodge Challenger vehicles that have a 5.7-liter V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In the affected vehicles, the transmission might jump out of the “Park” position when the engine is running; without the parking-brake set, the vehicle might roll, which increases the risk of a crash.

FCA U.S. will notify owners, and dealers will update the transmission-control-module software for free. The recall is expected to begin Aug. 21, 2017.

For more information, owners may call FCA U.S. at 800/853-1403. Owners also may call National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888/327-4236 or go to safercar.gov.
